Introducing the new HPC Q&A

The HPC Q&A replaces the traditional HPC Workshop, offering more dynamic and accessible support.

The Q&A Session will be held every Thursday from 10 to 11 am using Big Blue Button (BBB). To participate in the Q&A session, please use the link provided in the MOTD banner on our login nodes or in the HPC support chat in mattermost. Our goal is to provide a platform for users to ask general questions in an informal setting. These sessions are ideal for short inquiries related to jobs, hardware, and other HPC-related issues.

Additionally, the BBB platform offers the functionality to create a breakout room. The intended use is to facilitate a one-on-one conversation between an HPC administrator and a user to discuss individual project-related topics. Should you be interested in this, please send us an . Please provide your inquiry at least three days prior to the Q&A. This enables us to prepare for the session and ensure the necessary personnel availability.

Your message should include the following information:

• Software and research area
• (if applicable) scripts, job scripts
• Specific questions or problem descriptions
• Your goal for the session/breakout room
• Number of people joining

The breakout session should not exceed 1.5 hours. If your inquiry is expected to be more time intensive, we will schedule an independent co-working session outside the Q&A format with you.

It is important to note that the HPC Q&A is not intended to replace the in-depth HPC courses offered by our team as well. Instead, it serves as a quick, personal touchpoint for users who require immediate assistance or advice.
